The National Association for
the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is a great resource for the early
childhood arena. There are great
resources and publications to excel in your work. My favorites are the
Publications, Public Policy, and Professional training. naeyc.org. This sight
is beneficial for what I do in my professional life and it affects my personal
life as well. I really enjoy the publication that the NAEYC delivers to me each
month. http://www.naeyc.org/yc/. There are articles that relate to what I need
to teach the children or what is going on in the world of education by other
professionals in the field, lawmakers and other legal people.
NAEYC also sponsor’s an
annual conference that I would like to attend someday. I have just read and heard about these
outstanding conferences. There is much
training, advocacy and the most important is the networking with early
childhood people from all over the Nation.
The Child Care
Development Block Grant concerns me that the politicians and others involved
are distributing it fairly. I really need to research into how they decide on
how the money is distributed. http://www.naeyc.org/policy/federal/ccdbg
There is a publication
that really caught my eye. It is NAEYC
Call to Action to the 112 Congress. This article/proposal is stating how
important it is for early intervention not only with the children and families,
but for the early intervention with the teachers and their training to meeting
the needs. Please take a look at this
article. http://www.naeyc.org/files/naeyc/file/policy/federal/Call_Action_112(2).

I know that NAEYC is
very engaged in with lawmakers and economists.
This is what makes this association credible.
There is current
information on the website that can tell you how to support what lawmakers are
making decisions on. It is our job as educators
to educate this law makes as well. He lawmakers need to know what is happening
and the best way is through the people who are in the field. This is the way these politicians and others
get involved and have a impact on what our children and families need to meet
their needs in the early childhood field. http://www.naeyc.org/policy/federal/9_18_12
The Internet is
such a resource. I really enjoy that I
can sit in my home and learn about all the issues around the world at just a
touch of my fingers.
After digging
deeper into this website I know there is much more to learn about what they do
along with some other websites that are just as intriguing.
Hi Tracey,
ReplyDeleteThe NAEYC site is indeed an excellent site, providing such a wide range of information. At times I am tempted to make it a "one-stop-shop", but it is important to get a variety of perspectives and support from other sites too.
