Research Around the World

Early Childhood Australia: This is the Australian equivalent to the U.S. based NAEYC. http://www.earlychildhoodaustralia.org.au/

I chose this website because I personally know early childhood educators in Australia.  I would like to find more about what issues in the early childhood field are in other parts of the world.  I feel that going to this website I can learn more and find out more about research globally by visiting these different websites.

The mission statement for the Early Childhood Australia states that they will “advocate to ensure quality, social justice and equity in all issues relating to the education and care of children from birth to eight years”.

This website is interesting in that the information is clear and concise.  It also talks bot current issues and methods in the early childhood field.   It looks as though there is a collection of research that has been collected and composed as resources that are able for purchases.

The page that I found where the research is, it is called the “Research in Practice Series (RIPS)” This is what the website quotes what RIPS is about, “The Research in Practice Series is a practical, easy-to-read resource, offering effective new approaches for those challenging issues which arise in the care and education of young children. Early Childhood Australia's Research in Practice Series is an essential resource for those involved in the early childhood field. The books are idea-rich and to the point. The Research in Practice Series focuses on the practical, 'hands-on' aspects of early childhood – making them ideally suited to early childhood worker.” (Retrieved from http://www.earlychildhoodaustralia.org.au)
These articles and journals are available for purchase through the website.

This organization has a Journal that has been published and well established and currently stands as the world's longest-running major early childhood journal called, The Australasian Journal of Early Childhood. Visit the website to gain more knowledge for yourself, http://www.earlychildhoodaustralia.org.au/pdf/ajec/ajec0101_waniganayake.pdf

This website has much resourceful information about the early childhood field.  This website compares with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). However, it looks as though there is a more global information base with the Australia website.

This website has a journal published with information based on, health education, social trends, and also includes book reviews, creative ideas and guest statements from well known identities. This publication is distributed quarterly with the latest information.
