Getting to Know you International Contacts

I have been corresponding with two different websites.

Save the Children is the leading independent organization creating lasting change in the lives of children in need in the United States and around the world. Recognized for our commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration, our work takes us into the heart of communities, where we help children and families help themselves. We work with other organizations, governments, non-profits and a variety of local partners while maintaining our own independence without political agenda or religious orientation.

As quickly and as effectively as Save the Children responds to tsunamis and civil conflict, it works to resolve the ongoing struggles children face every day — poverty, hunger, illiteracy and disease — and replaces them with hope for the future.

I have always supported this association.  Save the Children has sponsored many trainings that I have been invited and involved with.  Actually they are the first association that I joined as a professional.  Save the children does so much for children and families world wide for their growth and development. Save the Children is transforming children’s lives by providing families and communities with the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty.

National Association for the Education of Young Children

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is the world's largest organization working on behalf of young children with nearly 80,000 members, a national network of more than 300 state and local Affiliates, and a growing global alliance of like-minded organizations.

What I have got from both of these associations is great knowledge on different ways to grow as a professional.  There are many resources that I have access to by being a member.

I will continue to access these websites and correspond with those that I know in these associations.  I do correspond on a state level with members.  I am on a planning committee with these local committees to plan the state wide Professional Development Conference.

I just know that there are many resources out there for all of us to use.  Being able to create the relationship I did with these two sites has been  a growing experience.

I hope to see you all in future classes.  I have learned so much from all of you.

  1. Here I am posting on my own blog. I forgot to say how much these two site are assisting me in achieving my goals. Here are my goals that I would like to achieve:
Transform myself to be a great leader and teacher to children and adults.

Empower families and children to love learning and to want to be lifelong learners.

To gain knowledge to share with others to create respect that each person is an individual and that they each have great gifts to offer no matter what their age is.
